Eyelids should be cleaned and dried. Remove any eye makeup before applying eyeliner.
Choose the appropriate eyeliner. Pencil eyeliners look more natural, while liquid eyeliners are sharper and more adaptable.
Apply a thin line of eyeliner to your top lash line. Work your way outward from the inner corner of your eye. Clean lines are created by using short, delicate strokes.
Deepen the line as you approach the outer corner of your eye for a more dramatic appearance. A tiny wing is formed by extending the line slightly upward and outward.
Draw winged eyeliner using your lower lash line angle. Consider a line from the outside corner of your eye to the end of your brow for the wing.
Apply eyeliner on the outside two-thirds or the entire length of your lower lash line to balance it out. Because the lower lash line is typically softer and less defined than the top, create a narrow line with delicate strokes.
To carefully erase or repair the liner, use a pointed cotton swab or small makeup brush dipped in makeup remover.
Tightline your upper lash line for extra definition. Line the waterline between your lashes with eyeliner. Line the inner rim of your upper lash line with a waterproof eyeliner pencil.
Allow your eyeliner to dry after you're satisfied with it. Curl your lashes and use mascara to enhance the appearance.
